You will eventually be forced to do it and well of course you’ll sound stuffy and plus if your coughing it will drag your work because after saying a couple of sentences you will then have that urge to cough, I know, like you can help it! The worst part is if you have phlegm or your throat is itching, you will have a tendency to clear your throat and that is just unprofessional to hear when you are reading and you start clearing your throat from time to time.
Try listening to yourself after you record your voice and then play it back, you’ll hear how embarrassing it is. Trust me I know this things, so it important for you to be in good health. Your voice is your tool to earn money here so take good care of it. The other thing that you must have is your microphone & software where you can record your voice and save it in an mp3 format. I recommend using this program called Cool Edit Pro 2.0 because with this you can edit your voice to either increase or lower your volume and you can also save your recordings in different file formats. It is as well easy to use!
When you are working or recording make sure that you are in a quiet room. You don’t want any disturbing background noises like, let’s say for example your dog is barking so loudly, a baby crying, people chatting or cars passing by. These are the things you should consider before getting this job.
